Let there be light!
Did you know that an inability to get butter to churn used to be considered evidence of witchcraft? After a couple years of occasional putzing around with butter making, I think I've successfully figured out the process.
A break in rains and a slight green up has given these piglets an opportunity to learn how to be piglets.
This is a picture from a few days ago when hand milking out on pasture was a perfectly damn pleasant experience. There's no image from today's shivering in the cold rain milk chores.
We had another "freak" cold snap and snow shower right around blossom time. We seem to have been spared major losses with this slow to start spring, but early blooming combined with late cold snaps has been an issue with raising fruit these past few years.
This may be the best ham I've made so far. 4 months old, could've kept hanging.
